Treating Your Sick Pet Birds

Like human beings animals and birds can also get sick. All the diseases have some early symptoms, which would help to identify a disease in the early stage. If your pet bird is showing any abnormal symptoms, then you should take him to a veterinarian as soon as possible.

You should properly handle your bird and then carry it to the hospital with proper safety. You may also use a glass aquarium to carry your bird to the hospital. A soft cloth can be placed in the bottom of aquarium for better protection. If you don’t have a glass aquarium then you may use the typical cage. Give water and food to the bird if required. Use styptic powder or flour in a pinch.

It would be better to notice the symptoms of your bird illness in the early stage. If your bird have some physical disorder then it would be wise to provide medical help quickly. If your bird is suffering from bleeding then you have to provide emergency care and check the bleeding area. You should check its feathers, nails and tones if blood is coming from there. Cover your bird with a soft cloth or towel.

Try to find exact reason of your bird’s problem and provide a nutritious diet to your bird. Poor nutrition can make your bird sick. If another big animal has attacked your bird, then you should treat his injury first and then provide all the necessary safety to your bird. In your bird wings are injured by ceiling fan blade then you have to cover the bird with soft cloth and carry to a veterinarian.
