Cockatiels: One Of The Most Popular Pet Birds

Cockatiel is one of the most popular species of parrots. Cockatiels are the sociable type of bird and adopted their name from a Dutch word “Kakatielje”, which means little cockatoo. Cockatiels come from Australia and lives for about 15 to 20 years. Cocktails are known as most intelligent and gentle pet birds. These birds are affordable and don’t require much attention and care.

For the beginners, it’s great to have a cockatiel. These birds are not demanding but very active. Cockatoos are originated from Australia. Cockatoo are also popular as they are found in large varieties of colors like white, grey and yellow. These birds like your touch and attention, and are cheerful by nature. Cocktails are very loving and caring. As compared to female cockatiels, male cockatiels are easy to train, but they cannot talk like other large parrots.

Cockatiels are small sized than other type of parrots. Female cockatiels are shy by nature and more affectionate, while male cocktails are more frank and aggressive. The cage for a cocktail should be large as a flying room. If you trust your bird and your bird is also much intelligent, then you can also try to let your bird out of the cage to walk around the home.

Cockatiels have a habit to chew the things, so keep your things away from them. Cockatiels like to eat seeds, vegetables bread and fruits. A cocktail require 12-hour sleep to live healthy. Cocktail’s gentle and affectionate nature makes him best to select as a pet bird.
